New York State Child Support Enforcement

Overpaid other party. Per court order I am to be credited this overpayment.

Child support unit is REFUSING to comply to court order.

Says go to small claims court but they say this is a support issue only. Spoke to worker plus two supervisors who all REFUSE to comply with the court order.

I am in the arrears, which I've paid on time for the last three years every payday, why do you attack my checking and savings taking all my money for my bills, It nearly killed me, I had to go to the hospital for chest pains, I thought I was having a heart attack.

This office is a disgrace to society. The employees are lazy, negligent and ill mannered.

They purposely throw paper work of cases to the side to collect dust for months or even years on end. The very people in the mail department disposed of a whole truck load of cases back in the very early 2000s so they wouldn't be held accountable. Those specific men are on the 5th floor.

To top it all off the place is a health hazard, no ventilation, staff is constantly sick and purposely cough, sneeze, and belch out loud. Then there is ego and favoritism among management as well as fowl play.

This place needs to be shut down or a clean sweep because the activities taking place here are both appalling and despicable!

I was on SSI, and no agency can take money from that, its a very small amount of money to live on. Anyone can search it and find Social Security Administration Laws.

I have recovered from my accident as best as to be expected. I still have a disability but, i went back to work. I am really pissed off and they will NOT get away with it! My bank account has been frozen, even though i agree to pay.

I can't get answers/truth from anyone. I think they all read from a script. I have called the NY Child Support Services and i have asked them numerous time why my bank account is froze, when i told them to take what ever pmts out each month that is due. Well my bank statements are showing money being deducted and who it is from, and when i call and speak to a rep they tell me nothing has been taken from my account and i need to pay the balance.

So unbelievably RUDE, i was politely asking questions that only pertained to the case. OMG they LIE LIE LIE!! I am going to get an Attorney. I have found some FREE/Pro-bono attorneys.

That was easy to find for this matter in case someone reads this. Google it as Free attorney for child support cases. Now i will look for, who i contact to file a complaint against them with in the Government. This is not how any kind of government agency is ran.

I have no problem with paying my obligations, even though i know this child is not mine. It's not the childs fault in any way, shape or form. I feel bad for the moms/dads who are battling Child Support to get pmts.

This agency has done nothing to enforce a interstate order. They've allowed this to occur for 11+ years!

Balance of more than 106K! They have let their NY resident show up on several occasions with several unsatisfied warrants, not make any payment & allowed him to leave!

Now warrant is dropped because they can not locate him!! However, they never prosecuted when he was present!

NYC Child Support Enforcement is a complete joke. They have allowed my children's Father to evade payments for 12 years.

He has shown to court with active warrants, not been held liable and allowed to leave without even making a payment arrangement. This Agency and Court System is not only unfair but obviously does not care for those who they are suppose to be serving the justice for!!

NYSCSEU is the worst, as a life long NY'er I have had to call the city/state on a few occasions but calling child support has to be the worst. I have waited for years to get back child support and finally ( 25 yrs later) the arrears was paid in full according to the NYSCSEU website, my case has a zero balance, I called to confirm I was told by a representative that the back money was received and sent to me on 4/30 just like it said on the website.

So I figured ok maybe it will take a few days , I called back on 5/6 and told the funds are on hold for verification as of 5-1 and that "I just have to wait I don't know what else to tell you" I asked why I was told the funds were sent to me and I should check with my bank on 5/1? I was told " I don't know what to tell you" I cant believe how poorly these representative speak to clients. I said well, I am sorry to bother you I am only A. Waiting 25 yrs and B.

is this not your job I don't think I am being unreasonable- why is it on hold? why was I told it was sent ? why does the website state a zero balance and funds sent to my bank on 4/30 ? when will it clear?

first I was told up to 10 days from 4/30 then 10 days from 5/2- I asked what the issue is and I was told they can't tell me as of today 5/10.

The state needs to revamp this agency it is horrible and the tone is that you are bothering them. I cant imagine the headaches people in other states have with them -

My best friend has been dealing with their scams for the last 4 years. They keep forcing him to pay ridiculous amounts, which caused him to lose his home.

He asked for a modification last July because his income was even lower. The magistrate lowered it to $75 for 3 months and increased it right back up to over $550 a month. His gross income is only $900. His arrears seems to always increase when he has not missed any payments.

When he calls them, they are rude and hang up on him. Now he is about to lose his home again because of their scams. He has filed paper work and they are ignoring him. Also his Daughter is 20 years old and emancipated.

He has told the court where she lives and where she works but yet they still make him pay. I think these people need a lawsuit. How can this so called agency get away with all of this illegal activity?

My friend cannot afford an attorney since these “scammers” are taking all of his money. This is so wrong.

I am in the process of writing letters to the Mayor, Governor, heck I might even write to the President.

I filed a violation of child support a month ago against my child's mother who moved to another state. Child support enforcement said they would serve her themselves and I just had to appear on the date given.

I showed up to court on the date my matter was supposed to be heard only to be turned away because THEY incorrectly served her and didn't even go to the correct address. I had no issues serving her myself and hiring a sheriff in her state to get her served, in time, with no problem. Why can't the New York Court system get it together? It is a complete waste of time to have to sit there and wait to be heard only to be told they weren't able to make service on time because they just figured out that they need to find a process server in that state.

Its unbelievable that the court doesn't even know their own rules of service.

They need to hire competent people who know the rules of the court. It would make these hearings much more bearable when the papers are filed correctly and the judge doesn't have to fumble through the disorganization.

My child support case was dismiss in Jan 2018, my employer was still taken money out of my check because they said they never received the order I then faxed to my employer and they stop taken the money out, child support enforcement sent me a letter stated that I owed arrears of 3 months, I then took court order dismissal letter to my local office as I was instructed to do, they made a copy and sent to NYS child support enforcement and told me to call the nys child support enforcement in 10 days and make sure it’s cleared up. I called and they told me that it takes 20 business days to enter they’re system but they see the dismissal order but if has to update in they’re system.

2 weeks ago I get a letter from my bank stated that CSE had placed a restraining order on my account for past arrears. I called office and they said it still hasn’t updated in they’re system and won’t until Sept 24 and everything would be fine but there is nothing they can do abt the restraining order until the account is cleared. I called back on the Sept 24 and was told that everything will be cleared by the close of the business day, called back on the Sept 25 and was told it’s still hasn’t updated in they’re system and they would put in a request to have my case looked at but that will take up to 20 business days and there is nothing they can do abt the restraining order on my bank account until system updated or I can pay the arrears and that will clear my account.

And then sue the respondent in court to get the arrears money back. I have spoken to numerous reps and supervisors and no ones seems to have a clue as to what to do or what’s going on.

The Jamaican supervisor at the W Broadway office is very rude and disrespectful. The collection unit made an error withholding income from both my jobs so I had to go into the NY office to rectify,since the amount they were withholding was more than the court ordered amout.

When the young lady was trying to explain to me why it was taking so long for my second job to receive the termination order he just barge in and said well i need to check with my job.

I explained to him that I relocated to Georgia and I just want some confirmation that the order was sent out since its a huge inconvenience and expense to come back to NY if the order is not received and he just walked off. He was not helpful and very disrespectful.
